Key features include their polarized housings (preventing incorrect mating), various pitch sizes (e.g., 2.54mm, 2.0mm, 1.25mm), and color-coded wires. 1.Design & Specification: Defining connector series (e.g., PH, XH), pin count, wire gauge, length, color, and shielding requirements.
2. Wire Preparation: Cutting wires to precise length and stripping insulation from the ends.
3. Termination (Crimping): The core step. A precision crimping machine attaches metal terminals (contacts) to the stripped wire ends, ensuring a secure electrical and mechanical bond.
4. Housing Assembly: The crimped terminals are inserted into the designated cavities of the plastic JST connector housing until they click into place.
5. Testing & Inspection: 100% electrical testing for continuity, short circuits, and sometimes pull-force testing to verify crimp quality.
6. Final Assembly (Optional): Adding strain reliefs, bundling into harnesses with sleeves, or applying labels.
